Brazil is among the contenders of Copa America

The Selecao played his last warm-up game before the Copa America against Honduras. Brazil won 1-0, but the most important thing was Danilo being injured and the inclusion of Dani Alves to the team to replace the Porto defender. Neymar also joined the action for the second half of a rather uneventful match. To making an excuse towards supporters who jeered after the game, Robinho expressed that their moderate display was all right regarding this was their last game before the Copa, and they had to spare most of their energy. For the best of the Copa, the biggest stars of South America are in excellent shape, so this year’s tournament should be most certainly an event to watch.

The Guardian: Neymar returns as Brazil beat Honduras in final Copa América warm-up

Brazil defeated Honduras 1-0 in a game that wrapped up the preparations for the Copa America. Neymar teamed up with the other players from the squad on Monday, only two days after he scored Barcelona’s last goal in the Champions League final in Berlin, where the Catalans defeated Juventus, as keen followers of sports scores know.

Neymar replaced Liverpool’s Philippe Coutinho at half-time, however Brazil already have scored the only goal of the match that time, as Roberto Firmino found Noel Vallarades’net in the 33rd minute. Brazil controlled the game that was played in constant rain, however they had few chances, which is always a reason to be critical for the supporters of Brazil.
Robinho argued that they were keeping the best for the tournament ahead of them. He said, “We eased off the throttle a bit because we know the Copa America is the most important thing for us. The team is practically ready. We’ve been improving match after match.”

Sky Sports: Roberto Firmino strikes in Brazil’s final Copa America warm-up

Brazil beat Honduras 1-0 through Roberto Frimino’s strike in the first half. That was Brazil’s last friendly game before the Copa America, and it cost them default right back Danilo who injured his ankle early on. He is out for the tournament and Dunga instantly called up Barcelona’s Dani Alves to replace him, latest gambling news report.

Roberto Firmino scored the only goal of the game played in Porto Alegre. The Hoffenheim midfielder put the ball into the net between the goalkeeper’s legs after a clever one-two between Filipe Luis and Philippe Coutinho in the 33rd minute. That was virtually the only exciting moment in the first half of a rather dull game played in steady rainfall.

Neymar, who joined the team on Monday after the final of the Champions League, had a disallowed goal and a great chance after he took the field in the second half. Brazil has won all of its last 10 games since Dunga took over the team after the humiliating 7-1 defeat against Germany in the semifinal of the World Cup last summer.

Johan Cruyff stated when he coached Barcelona that the season after the World Cup was virtually always unpredictable, as the best players, who participated in the tournament, were exhausted. He said, “Everyone in the squad who played in the World Cup – I think there’s about 13 of them – has been injured for a short or a long time. It can’t be coincidence.”

However this season was an exception for many and the Copa America could benefit from that, as all the biggest South American stars including Leo Messi, Neymar, James Rodriguez and Alexis Sanchez are in excellent shape. This would increase the prestige of the tournament for any of those who follow live sports scores in Europe.

A tired Messi was seemingly in power saving mode for the most of the World Cup last summer, always to strike in the most important moment, however after assessing his physical condition he is back at his best regarding his game and his fitness too. Neymar injured in the World Cup against Colombia, but he is also as good as ever, contributing vastly to Barca’s treble and Brazil could also capitalize on his outsanding form.

May 20, 2015
Brazil football team

Brazil’s football team has a master (other than football itself)

A report emerged from the Brazilian media suggesting that a certain Cayman Island-based company has total control over naming the national teams’ starting line-up since years. The firm allegedly has power over broadcasting rights and copyrights too, and a third party is reportedly owns the rights of organizing friendlies for the national team.

The Brazilian Football Federation supposedly needs to prove injuries via medical certificates before any changes to be made in the squad. This would be a useful excuse for the awful display of Brazilian teams in recent tournaments indeed, especially for the ugly 7-1 against Germany on home soil in the World Cup last year.

ESPNFC.com: Brazilian national team’s squad selection sold to firm, alleges report

The coaches of Brazil’s national football team don’t have full control over the team since years, gambling newsreport. CBF, Brazil’s Football Federation signed a contract with marketing company ISE back in 2006, and since the 2011 extension the firm incorporated in the Cayman Islands and its business partners can allegedly influence player call-ups.

The deal supposedly includes that Brazil’s best players, quoted as “A Team”, must play in every international outings, and every changes have to be made according to a particular marketing standard. Allegedly, CBF have to prove any “A Team” injuries with credible medical documents, and have to communicate any substitutions towards ISE in advance.
If a change is to be made, Brazil need to field a player of “similar level in relation to marketing value, technical ability and reputation” according to the report. The alleged deal naturally rules out testing young players in friendlies, and includes penalty payments if Brazil fails to meet the terms.
CBF denied the report however, which also claims that the organization traded the rights of arranging the national team’s friendly games to another company. The story also tells that the Cayman Islands firm has full control over broadcasting rights and copyrights too. The contract runs out in 2022.

Daily Mail: Brazil national team

picked by its commercial partners since 2006 with only ‘marketable’ stars selected, claims Sao Paulo newspaper after disclosing ‘contract’
Commercial partners has been influencing the starting line-up of the Brazilian national football teams since 2006, according to a report emerged from the local media, shocking many who follow sports scores in Brazil. The story tells that only players with a high enough marketing value can be included to the team.

The report claims to have seized a contract signed in 2006 by the Brazilian Football Association (CBF) and ISE, a company that doesn’t have any registered employees, and is incorporated in the Cayman Islands. Allegedly a Saudi Arabian firm is behind ISE that is called Dallah Al-Baraka and is involved in finance, healthcare, banking, transport, manufacturing and other fields.
The story tells that CBF’s business partners choose players for the national team and the coaches have little to do with the starting line-up. The Brazilian federation supposedly has to ask ISE before calling up a new player, and the company would consider the possibility only after evaluating his marketing value.

The report suggests eventually that those who recently managed the Brazilian national team, Dunga, Mano Menezes and Luis Felipe Scolari, weren’t in the position to decide on starters, as breaking the relevant article would trigger a penalty. In this case ISE would pay only the half of the 1 million dollar match fee.
