Tyson Fury after beating Klitschko

Less than two weeks after the remarkable victory against Wladimir Klitschko, the Tyson Fury stripped of title news broke.

The 27-year-old British fighter  won the IBF heavyweight champion belt amongst four other titles last month. He defeated Klitschko on points with a unanimous decision in Düsseldorf. He had to fight against Vyacheslav Glazkov to defend the IBF belt, but he refused the opportunity and agreed on a rematch vs Klitschko, therefore came the Tyson Fury stripped of title procedure, gambling news report.

“It’s true he’s been stripped of his IBF belt,” said IBF championships chairman Lindsey Tucker. “Our challenger was Vyacheslav Glazkov, but instead Fury’s gone and signed a rematch clause with Wladimir Klitschko.”

Thus Fury will retain ‘only’ the WBA and WBO heavyweight world championship titles as well as the Ring Magazine belt. He is undefeated in 25 professional fights and has to defend his titles against Klitshcko because of the Ukrainian announced that he will activate the rematch clause that was included in the contract before their previous match.

The date of the Fury vs Klitschko II fight is to be announced.
