Championship Review – La Liga, Serie A, Bundesliga, Premier League

Jan 18, 2017
This weekend came with some quite interesting encounters out of some was expected to be rather one-sided while others should have been much more unpredictable. Let’s take a championship review in the top 4 European domestic leagues – La Liga, Premier League, Bundesliga and Serie A!

La Liga – Real lost 2 points again

Real Madrid tied Villarreal on Wednesday at Estadio Santiago Bernabéu and they were to make a trip to Las Palmas de Gran Canaria island in hopes of clinching all 3 points against the Yellows. The home team, however, disagreed with the intentions of Los Blancos and fought hard in order to crush the Royal dreams. And they succeeded! Zidane’s men took the lead twice in the game but Las Palmas managed to equalize on both occasions, setting the final result at 2-2.

Sports scores news and online sportsbooks of course did not expect such a result: basically everyone expected Real Madrid to shine. It doesn’t happen very often that they lose points in 2 consecutive league games. However, they did so this time and their confident lead over Barcleona, which could have risen up to 5 points, decreased to 1 point only, although they still lead La Liga. After losing 4 points in 4 days against 2 yellow teams, they will play at Signal Iduna Park on Tuesday night against Die Schwarzgelben. Good luck against the other Yellows!

Meanwhile, Barcelona tied Atletico de Madrid in the midweek round of La Liga which meant they couldn’t decrease their disadvantage over Los Merengues at that point. However, like many online betting sites in Spain predicted, Barca were not capable of losing points in 2 games in a row, unlike their ancient rivals. They played at Sporting Gijón’s home and trashed their opponent by 0-5.

Premier League – Arsenal trashed Chelsea in London derby

Premier League was full of great matches this weekend, let’s start with the biggest and most passionate derby in our championship review: Arsenal v Chelsea. The encounter was expected to be tight despite the fact that Chelsea are not even close to be at their best so far. They are only 8th in the league with their 10 points, however, they are likely to be in the top 6 at least by the end of the season.

Arsenal are rather in a good form, they won 4 out of 6 league games they had so far this season. And they didn’t let their fans down in the city derby: Sanchez, Walcott and Özil scored for the Gunners, setting the final result at 3-0. Quite a convincing performance, one which they haven’t really managed to achieve against Chelsea in the past few seasons. Arsenal are third in Premier League with 13 points thanks to this win.

Manchester City played against Swansea away. Pep Guardiola’s men keep winning so far: 6/6, 100%, 18 points, terrific way to start a season. Of course they lead the league. A bit of a surprise that Tottenham are second with 14 points. These two are the only unbeaten teams in the Premier League. Spur seized a 1-2 victory in Middlesbrogouh.

Another match that was highly expected by online gambling news was the derby between maybe the most prestigious English club Manchester United and last season’s champions Leicester City. However, the game ended up being a rather one-sided one: Mourinho’s Red Devils won the first half by 4-0. The second half was only played because it was obligatory, but nothing exciting happened then, except for that one goal that Leicester’s Demarai Gray scored, ending the match at 4-1. United came up to the 6th position with this triumph over last season’s odds upsetting heroes.

Bundesliga – Bayern suffered, Dortmund shined

Bundesliga is not the most exciting one of domestic leagues in the past few years. Nobody even knows when the last time it actually has been exciting was. Bayern Munich has been dominating the league and this year doesn’t seem to be any different either. They won 5 out of 5 games so far and are already 3 points ahead of Borussia Dortmund. However, they almost managed to lose 2 points against HSV: Kimmich ended up scoring the winning and only goal of the game in the 88th minute.

Borussia Dortmund, on the other has, continues playing in a convincing form before hosting Real Madrid. The Black and Yellow side hosted Freiburg on Friday and left no questions: Aubameyang took the lead for them and Piszczek scored the second. Philipp brought back hopes for the away side but Guerrero, who came in as a substitute, scored another for BVB in the 91st minute, ending the match at 3-1.

Hertha Berlin started the season in an incredible form and won 3 out of their first 3 league games, surprising all Bundesliga betting tips at the time. However, they met Bayern Munich in the 4th round who ended their terrific series of triumph. In the fifth round on Saturday, they were hosted by Eintracht Frankfurt and played a fantastic game: HBSC took the lead but Frankfurt were leading 2-1 at half time. By the 65th minute, Hertha were leading again by 2-3 and were wining until the very last second when Frankfurt’s Hector equalized and set the final result at 3-3.

Seria A – Both Juve and Napoli seized victory

Italian football is not living its best days every since the Calciopoli scandal. However, we can still regard Serie A as one of the best domestic leagues in European club football. Gambling news do so at least and the latest sports scores in the last few Champions League seasons also force us to take at least Juventus seriously. They stand out of all the other Italian clubs.

Yet they suffered against Palermo this weekend: they almost managed to hold a goalless draw Juve won eventually by 0-1 with an own goal. They have 15 points after 6 rounds thanks to this. The second best Italian team is Napoli, who hosted Chievo and won by 2-0. Napoli are the only unbeaten team in Serie A. They are only 1 point behind the Turin-based rivals…
